Operations Map

The Operations Map was designed by Corporal George Martin, with help from some of the other Ghost Army soldiers. After the war Martin had them printed and distributed to each of the men as

a memento. of their wartime adventure. It's an accurate record of their operations, travels and bivouacs sprinkled with 1940s humorous details. This reproduction is printed on 24" x 36"Archival paper.

In 1944 the men of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, known as the “Ghost Army,” were sent to war with rubber tanks, fake artillery and a few more tricks. Across Europe and into Germany, they conjured up deceptions to fool the enemy about location of fully armored American Army units.

Many of the deceivers were artists who, in between missions, on their own time, created wonderful drawings and paintings of the war torn continent.

We are pleased to offer prints of a selected group of paintings and drawings created by the men of the Ghost Army during WWII. These reproductions are beautifully printed on archival paper and suitable for framing.
